Introducing Pretty Nerdy!
Hey guys!
We’re Em and Nish, the co-directors of Pretty Nerdy! If you love anime, manga, and all things nerd culture, you’re in the right place. Pretty Nerdy was born out of our shared passion for these things, and we’ve been on an amazing journey to bring anime-inspired merchandise to fans like us.
We launched Pretty Nerdy in 2020, during the lockdown, with our first collection of anime-themed beanies. Our collection featured the Akatsuki Beanie, Simp x Simp Beanie, JOJO Menacing Beanie, and Fly High Beanie. Since then, we’ve grown and added even more products, including caps, sweatshirts, and even collectible figurines from Bandai, Good Smile Company, and Taito. And the best part? We always aim to keep our prices affordable for our community.
Starting Pretty Nerdy wasn’t easy. We had absolutely no idea how to start a business and worked with an incredibly tight budget. But our passion for anime merchandise and building a community of fellow nerds kept us going. There were plenty of challenges along the way, but here we are—still growing, learning, and more excited than ever about the future.
Speaking of the future, we’ve got big plans for Pretty Nerdy. We’re constantly working on new designs and products, whether that’s more apparel, accessories, or maybe even a few top-secret collaborations in the works! Our ultimate goal is to grow our community—you guys are the heart of Pretty Nerdy, and we want our social media pages to be a space where we can all geek out together, chat about our favourite shows, and stay up-to-date on the latest anime news.
One thing we really pride ourselves on is our connection with the community. We love hearing your suggestions and ideas for new products, and we’re always looking for ways to give back—whether through giveaways, contests, or featuring your stories and creations. You’re more than just customers; you’re part of Pretty Nerdy’s journey, and we couldn’t do this without your support.
Behind the scenes, we have a lot of fun creating our products. Each design starts with us geeking out over our favourite anime and asking ourselves, “How can we bring this to life in a way that’s fresh, stylish, and something we’d actually wear?” From sketching ideas to creating mock-ups, to working with our ethical manufacturers to find the perfect materials, every step is a labor of love. Our Pochita Beanie (inspired by Chainsaw Man) and Bond Cap (inspired by Spy x Family) are just a couple of examples of how we bring your favourite characters to life.
Oh, and here’s a fun fact: Em’s favourite anime characters are Bakugo from My Hero Academia (because who doesn’t love a little fiery attitude?) and Honey Senpai from Ouran High School Host Club, representing her cute side. Nish, on the other hand, is all about Gojo Satoru (which led us to create our popular Gojo Satoru sweatshirt), and he may or may not have a crush on Yor Forger from Spy x Family.
